Executive Council

FIAT/IFTA is managed by an Executive Council consisting of twelve members elected by the General Assembly.
The Council is headed by a President elected at the General Assembly, every two years. The General Secretary, the Treasurer and the Vice-presidents are appointed by the Executive Council among its members.

Commissions

Most of FIAT/IFTA work is done in four commissions, these are :

• Media Management Commission : development of new information & multimedia tools ; metadata
• Preservation & Migration Commission : exchange of knowledge ; technical problems related to archive preservation and digitisation ; migration plans
• Programme & Production Commission : selection and preservation criteria ; promoting the use and exploitation of archives ; marketing ; IPR and Rights management ; FIAT Awards
• Television Studies Commission : link to the academic world researching audiovisual material
