ARCHIVE ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
The FIAT/IFTA Archive Achievement Award for the most productive initiative that promotes the value and use of audio-visual archives.
The award is aimed at those working with, or in the archives sector, who have made an outstanding contribution in promoting the value and use of audio-visual archives. Applicants/Nominations for the award may be individuals, groups of individuals, organisations/ companies.
Many different kinds of projects, initiatives or products may be nominated. Examples include but are not limited to the following. So have you worked on:
- a production using archive
- a new website
- a good piece of research for a customer
- a presentation to an influential stakeholder or politician
- a new and innovative publicity material
- an innovative way of doing business selling archives
- a new partnerships to use archives either internal or external to the archive/company
- a 360 degree production using archive (for use on all platforms e.g. TV, web, mobiles)
The award is designed to
> honour achievement
> showcase initiatives
> raise the profile of audio-visual archives
> to further promote the value and use of audio-visual archives
> stimulate and encourage such activities within the FIAT/IFTA membership
> and exchange ideas.
Nominations will be adjudicated by a jury within the Programme and Production commission. The winner(s) will be announced and rewarded at the annual World Conference.
DEADLINE for entries for 2010-Award: 31 March 2010
FIAT/IFTA encourages all of its members to take part.
Rules
- All applications must be by a member of FIAT/IFTA
- FIAT/IFTA-members may nominate a non-member for the award
- Projects or initiatives nominated must have been substantially completed or implemented in the preceding calendar year
- Initiatives can include any project, work, initiative or product which promotes the value and use of audio-visual archives
- Only one applicant per organisation or nominating person may apply
The next Archive Achievement Award will be presented at the 2010 FIAT/IFTA International Conference in Dublin.
