The seminar is jointly organised by the Bibliotheca Alexandrina
and the Institut National de l'Audiovisuel, with the support of the
International Federation of Television Archives, CoPeAM, the Arab
States Broadcasting Union and the French Embassy in Egypt.
Objectives of the seminar
- Promoting the audiovisual heritage of the Middle East and
Mediterranean area
- Federating regional initiatives in the field of digital
technologies applied to audiovisual content
- Presenting the state of the art of audiovisual archival
material preservation and digitization
- Evaluating the impact of the changes induced by digital
technologies in the area of media archives preservation, access
and management.
Target audience
- Managers and professionals of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and
the Egyptian TV (ERTU)
- Managers and professionals of media archives in the region (25
countries : Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Cyprus, Arabic Emirates, Egypt,
Greece, Iran, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya,
Malta, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey,
Yemen)
Languages
Working languages will be Arabic, English and French with
simultaneous translation.
