Business Session : new opportunities for earning revenues from Archives & Libraries

With the advent of new technical landscapes and consumer platforms, what are opportunities for licensing footage in new ways ? The new "Outdoor Media" sees large format screens popping up all over the place, in stations and on trains, in public buildings, in urban open spaces. Will every town centre look like Time Square? And then, there are video enabled G3 telephones, a whole new world of broadband, and more. Everyone seems to need content. How do you get into these markets, what licences are relevant, how do you clear rights and how much is the market worth in revenues? Executives from the new industries and leading stock footage libraries discuss the opportunities and whether serving these new outlets makes commercial sense for broadcast libraries.

Chairman : John Flewin

Panellists : Matt White - National Geographic Digital Media, Washington DC, USA ; Paul Maidment - BBC Motion Gallery, London, UK ; Mark Levy - Cobras, Seattle, USA

15.30pm - End
