Objectives of the seminar :

Illustrate the importance of archives for the history of LA countries

Promote the use and value of the archives

Share experiences of re building of the audiovisual national memory

Present best practices in the area of media management : intake, selection, cataloguing

Present tools and methods to design and implement preservation and migration programmes

Analyse the impact of digitisation on the profile of archivists and archive organisations

Promote regional cooperation

In addition to the international seminar, there will be screenings every evening of audiovisual programmes (brought by the participants) and a special day, on May 10th, dedicated to Chilean archivists.
