News from members archives2007 - MayIna (France)Tales of a Festival : remembering Cannes in sound and pictureOn the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the International Film Festival, Ina and the Cannes Festival have jointly launched a web site "Tales of a Festival : remembering Cannes in sound and picture". It displays some 1.500 documents organised in interactive modules that tell the best moments of this unique film festival : interactive fresco, front page, cinema notebooks, quiz, goodies, my video space. There is a French and an English version of the web site :
Internet, a history in images / Internet, une histoire d'imagesParadoxically, the offer of images on the Internet is poor and even trash, whereas our archives are full of historical and cultural treasures. This is the theme of a paper written by Emmanuel Hoog, which has been published in the French daily newspapers Le Monde, on 7 March 2007 and in the Dutch NCR Handelsblad, last April .
This should be a strong incentive to go on implementing our preservation and digitisation policies, to show our images, to provide easy access to them on the web, and to take part in the Archives at Risk project. 2007 - JanuaryICA (French Polynesia)The "Institut de la Communication Audiovisuelle" (ICA) is the
