The main task of the office of FIAT/IFTA situated in Oslo, Norway, is to update the web site and to publish papers and reports for members. As you remember the web site has not been active for many months. Information about the worldwide conference of FIAT has been forwarded members and we are publishing the information in this newsletter on the web. The name of the webmaster is Karl Erik Andersen (Email: webmaster@fiatifta.org) and I take care of the editing of the information (email: General.Secretary@fiatifta.org).
So far so good, dear member. FIAT/IFTA does not have many members in Asia. Therefore an invitation to active participation at a conference in Singapore was appreciated. The conference was organised by National Archive of Singapore, Reed Exhibition Companies and The National Library Board of Singapore (NLB). My contribution was to set up a workshop on audiovisual archives. My lecture appears in this Newsletter. I was very pleased with the administration of the conference and I will advocate a closer cooperation with FIAT/IFTA's members in Asia in the future. A local seminar should be set up to make it possible for representatives of television archives in Asia to participate too.
The daily work of the secretary has been to establish better contact with the members worldwide. We are active in updating the addresses, Fax numbers and e-mail addresses of our members.
So, dear member, please forward me the correct information if you change your e-mail address or any other addresses or phone number. We are also interested in the correct address to forward the invoice for the fee, thank you, dear fellow member.
