In the Easter issue of the Newsletter there were notes
about new members. FIAT/IFTA General Secretary Steve Bryant gave further
information on new members under the headline FIAT EXPANDS - NEWS OF NEW MEMBERS.
Beside those mentioned in the last issue he gives the following:

We hope to meet the representatives from these new member organisations at our
forthcoming conferences.
A new system of approving membersihip applications has been devised so that
the General Secretary does not have to wait until an Executive Council meeting
before processing the application. This has helped to speed up the process
of welcoming new members.
Our new President, Tedd Johansen, has been very active in finding new members,
but we rely on all our members to point out the advantages of FIAT/IFTA membership
to contacts and colleagues who are not already part of our organisation. I
will be happy to send spare application forms to anyone who can use them, or
you can ask prospective new members to write to me at the address below:
